A Message From Our Founder

Hi, I’m Sophie, the founder of Leisurely. I started out in fashion production, but gradually the hectic pace of the industry began to wear me out, and I increasingly struggled to justify producing more clothes when we already have so much.

I took a step back to explore the stories behind our clothes, visiting factories, cotton fields, and artisans around the globe. Through my journey, I discovered a common thread: many of us are craving simplicity and a deeper connection to nature. We want genuine, sustainable choices, that align with our values, and add to our lives rather than overwhelming us.

That’s why I created Leisurely. Our bedding sets are designed for ultimate comfort and made with supersoft 100% TENCEL lyocell fabric, inviting you to embrace slow living and recharge in style. We’ve put together a dream team with fibres from Lenzing in Austria and sheets production by Lameirinho in Portugal, all brought together by myself in London – with invaluable support from friends and family along the way! We believe in radical transparency, telling the stories behind our sheets to not only give us accountability in our supply chain, but to help you understand the lifelong value in our beautiful sheets.

Join our Leisurely movement to create your very own sanctuary at home. We want to give you next level softness and quality sleep, so you can recharge and do the things that really matter to you. So we can all fill up with the energy and optimism we need to create a better world, together.

Our mission

The softest sheets + slow down consumption + sustainable production + improve your sleep

Our value chain

Everything we own goes on a journey before it reaches our homes, and that includes our TENCEL™ bed sheets. Explore our value chain here as we attempt to illustrate the ecosystem of our bedding sets from forest to bedroom.

Step One: Raw Material & Yarn Production

TENCEL™ is made from sustainably sourced wood and so the first step in our value chain is sourcing that wood. The wood is sourced from FSC and PEFC certified forests to ensure protection of ancient woodland, maintain biodiversity, and protect forest communities.

Step Two: Sheets Manufacturing

The yarn is then sent to the factory in Portugal ready for production. Our partner factory is vertically integrated, which means they do every step from weaving, dyeing, sewing, quality checking and finally packing.

A Family Business

Lameirinho have been making the best bed linen for 75 years, and is a true family business with generations working alongside one another.

Meet Salette Martins, one of the team at Lameirinho, who started in the factory and is now Sales Manager.

Circular textiles production

Textiles waste can be a problem even before anything has left the factory. That’s why Lameirinho have created their own solution.

They gather all off-cuts at the factory, to make into new yarn which is then used for new sheets and blankets.
